a journey of dreaming big.

For the past couple weeks, I have been speechless, not really knowing how to verbalize our latest events. Today, I will try my best because it is a story worth telling.

Almost a year ago, Rick and I started on a journey. We had a burning desire deep down inside of us to do what God has created us to do. We didn't know why or where it came from, but the only thing we knew to do was to pray.

so we prayed.. and prayed.. and fasted... and prayed - for 90 days.

During this time, Fall of 2011, the Lord began to reveal scripture to us, directing our path on this journey. Conversations with other believers and our familes helped confirm these desires. Every sermon and teaching I listened to seemed like it was written specifically for me. I remember crying during service at church every Sunday in January knowing God was ready to move in our lives. I was ready and more than willing to let Him do whatever.

So here were the three things Rick and I felt the Lord say to us this spring:

1. Love each other more, enjoy your marriage, and make memories together.

2. Your daughter is a gift. Create an environment of love and learning, and make your house a home.

3. I've given you something to say, so say it.

Obviously action steps needed to be taken. The first two items on the list were practically a no-brainer. It was time to devote more time to our family. In May, after crunching numbers and making financial adjustments, we took that step by me going part-time. So far, this is the best decision we have made as a family. I get to spend more time with my girl, and Rick and I get to enjoy more time with each other. I wish I could express the blessings that have come from us taking this step just a few short months ago. But here and here I've expressed just a few places of where my heart has been since this change.

The third item on the list - well, for Rick the result came through this. I don't want to ramble, but these songs came from what the Lord spoke to Rick and the guys. The Lord has given them something to say, so they said it. For me, I just came off of an incredible summer of spending time with the most lovely girls in the universe. I have a dream job of ministering to girls and sharing with them about a love that has changed me forever. To say the least, we aren't done dreaming...

That was just the beginning of our journey. Over the past two weeks - not even kidding - the Lord has spoken more into our lives than ever before. I don't know what's on the horizon, but one thing I do know is that I serve an incredibly huge God who loves the world a lot. I imagine if He can place stars as decor in the sky and send Jesus to rescue my dirty heart, He is going to do more than I can even dream of in this life.

So... today, I'm dreaming big for God to do what He has created me to do. My 25th birthday is coming up this November. By then, I plan to share with you 25 goals I have for my life. Some are little goals, but a lot are big goals that I really need a miracle in order for them to happen. Rick says this often - "If you aren't dreaming, you're dying."

This is my wish and prayer for you:

The last part of the chapter is my favorite! It says: "Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen."

So whatever those dreams are that you have, scripture says that God is able to accomplish more than you can even desire. He is the one who made the promise, and so I know He is going to keep that promise. You are significant to Him. I know He desires to work in your life, so dream big!
