It's potty time!

Well, the signs are clear. Emery is ready to start potty training. For months now, I've been watching for signs, reading books, and preparing for the perfect time to start the process. I want this to be easy on her, fun, and something she takes pride in. I knew starting too early or late could potentially hinder our success, but I believe now is the time. We have had a potty chair in Emery's bathroom for several months now, equipped with wipes, pull ups, big girl panties, and a hidden stash of kit kats. She pretends to potty and has actually been successful twice. She makes me aware when she needs a diaper change and has attempted to change her own diaper several times.

We will be home until next Wednesday, so I have five to six days to really work on this. Today, we pulled the potty chair in the living room. I painted her nails while she watched Dora. Tomorrow, I plan on making a big trip to Target with Emery to purchase a few potty books, pull ups for day and night, and special treats. We have a timer going every 20 minutes to remind us to go potty.

I'm hoping we are set up for a successful weekend! Any tips??
